Node modular
storage system

Made from rapidly renewable materials including cork and bamboo, Node modular storage units promotes a sustainable lifestyle. These units can be flattened and reassembled, which makes them intuitive to use and easy to transport.

Node uses velcro attachment to assemble the cork sheet and the bamboo inner ring. It can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly. 

Kerf cuts were made with tapered bits to eliminate as gap as possible. 

Can be laid flat and shipped flat.

Process

Using a jig to run the router on cork sheet. Using a taped bit for the kerf cuts to eliminate as much gap once assembled as possible. 

Making the inner ring structure from bamboo plywood. 

Affixing velcro strips onto the grooves. 

Testing out the stained options.
